Volleyball team struggles to stay in the game
The Castleton State College women’s volleyball team had another tough loss to Southern Vermont College at home on Oct. 13, losing in straight sets, keeping them winless for the 2011 season.
During the match, Nicole Valastro led the team in kills with four, while Paige Lacey and Grace Schreiber each had two kills. On the defensive side, Ruth Tomlinson led the team with 11 of the team’s 28 digs. Valastro added five digs to her stat column during the match.
One of the big mistakes for the Castleton Spartans in their loss to Southern Vermont was the multiple errors that they recorded. They allowed 28 errors in the match, which would end up hurting Castleton in the long run.
The Castleton women’s volleyball team finishes its NAC conference play on Saturday, Oct. 22 with a double header against Colby-Sawyer and Maine-Farmington. Both games will be held in the Glenbrook Gymnasium at 1p.m.
