Everyone is walking, how about carrying a bag for trash?
As some of you may know, Green-Up Day had been canceled this year, meaning on May 5, you won’t be seeing hundreds of people on the side of the road with the green trash bags making a difference in their community.
Now that I have a lot more time on my hands, I have been taking walks around my community. When you’re driving, it’s much less noticeable, but there is an incredible amount of trash lined along the side of the roads!
Now when I go out on walks, I bring a trash bag with me and a pair of gloves and do my part in making my community greener.
The majority of trash I see lying around consists of bottles and cans. Did you know that in Vermont bottles and cans are worth at least 5 cents?
That’s free money!
And if money isn’t enough incentive to get out there and clean up your community, I urge you to get out and do it because it’s the right thing to do. Be active and have your own Green-Up Day!
